Payroll Client Funds Interest Revenue measures interest ADP earns on funds held temporarily to satisfy client payroll, tax, and other payment obligations.
ADP reported $1.355 billion of interest on funds held for clients in fiscal 2026, up 14% year over year.
Why it matters
Interest revenue is driven primarily by the average client-funds balance and the yield earned on that balance. It can become a meaningful earnings tailwind or headwind as rates and balances change.
Investor caution
Client-funds interest revenue is not a standalone operating segment and should not be confused with the net contribution from ADP's extended investment strategy, which also incorporates financing and corporate investment effects.
