Source & methodology

Grizzly Bulls calculates the 12-month percent change from the retained not-seasonally-adjusted BLS CPI-U all-items index by comparing each monthly index level with the same month one year earlier. Months without both source observations are omitted rather than interpolated.

Calculation: ((current CPI ÷ CPI 12 months earlier) − 1) × 100.

Dataset: Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U), series CUUR0000SA0.

Unit: Percent. Frequency: Monthly.

Expected refresh: Monthly after the Bureau of Labor Statistics releases CPI. History target: 2018 onward.

Revision behavior: Final when released, except corrections. This series inherits CPI-U revision behavior; any correction to an input index level flows through to the derived 12-month change. Read revision methodology.

Vintage: Latest-known retained history. This page does not preserve prior publication vintages.

Source accessed: Oct 8, 2026.
