Accelerated Computing Land, Power, and Shell Guarantees are contingent obligations used to help selected customers secure the physical infrastructure required to deploy accelerated-computing systems.

NVIDIA disclosed maximum gross exposure of $3.5 billion under land, power, and shell guarantees for select AI cloud partners' data-center lease obligations as of July 26, 2026.

Why it matters

AI system demand can be constrained by site availability, electricity, construction, and financing rather than chip supply alone. Guarantees can help unlock customer deployment capacity.

Investor caution

The guarantee amount is contingent exposure, not an immediate expense or a forecast of losses. Payment obligations depend on specified customer defaults and the agreements' phased construction and lease terms.

Connect data-center and edge demand, hyperscale and AI-cloud customer mix, reportable-segment profitability, customer concentration, and the supply and infrastructure commitments required to support accelerated-computing growth.

How the model fits together
  • Data Center demand and customer mix: Data Center revenue combines Hyperscale and AI Clouds, Industrial, & Enterprise demand under NVIDIA's current market-platform presentation. The category growth rates show how those demand pools are changing, while direct-customer concentration provides channel concentration context without identifying end-customer exposure.
  • Market platforms versus reportable-segment economics: NVIDIA's Data Center and Edge Computing categories are market-platform revenue views, while Compute & Networking is a GAAP reportable segment with its own revenue and operating income. The segment margin is a derived profitability ratio and should not be treated as identical to consolidated margin or a market-platform margin.
  • Demand funding, supply commitments, and deployment capacity: Customer advances can fund future obligations before revenue recognition, while supply and capacity commitments secure memory and manufacturing inputs ahead of expected demand. Land, power, and shell guarantees address customer deployment bottlenecks but create contingent exposure. Together they connect demand visibility to the capital and infrastructure needed to turn demand into shipments without making commitments equivalent to future revenue.
