Base case is our central scenario. Bear and bull cases show how uncertainty around private holdings, retained proceeds, taxes and liabilities can move the estimate.
Rankings use the current base-case estimate and show the wider bear-to-bull range on the full list.

Forbes estimated that Schumer earned $37.5M from June 2016 through June 2017. More than 30% came from her Netflix stand-up special, with touring, film, a book and endorsements contributing to the rest of the reported total.
That mix matters because the income was not dependent on one employer or one project. It also does not mean $37.5M became permanent wealth: the figure was pretax earnings, and the public record does not show the later path of taxes, spending, investments or private production economics.
Netflix released Amy Schumer: Emergency Contact in 2023, extending a stand-up relationship that had already produced multiple specials. Film, television, writing and producing also broadened the business beyond live ticket sales.
The current economics of those channels are mostly private. Platform fees, tour settlements, producer participation, investments, property and liabilities therefore remain unresolved, leaving a wide range around the amount of career earnings likely to have been retained.

Forbes’ $37.5M estimate supplies a direct historical personal-earnings anchor, with later Netflix work showing continued monetization. The model does not treat a peak pretax earnings year as current wealth or manufacture undisclosed streaming fees and investment values.

Forbes estimated $37.5M of Schumer earnings from June 2016 through June 2017, with more than 30% attributed to her Netflix special and additional income from touring, film, a book and endorsements. Netflix released Emergency Contact in 2023 as another stand-up special. The range recognizes a documented peak earnings year and continuing media production without assuming that gross pretax earnings were fully retained or inventing current platform fees and investment values.
