Base case is our central scenario. Bear and bull cases show how uncertainty around private holdings, retained proceeds, taxes and liabilities can move the estimate.
Rankings use the current base-case estimate and show the wider bear-to-bull range on the full list.
Switch scenarios to see how the total and each component move together. The bars show each positive component's share of the estimated assets in that scenario, not audited holdings.
Forbes estimated Harmon earned $15M between June 2012 and June 2013. Four years later it placed him at $19M, showing that the long-running NCIS role was still producing top-tier television income well into the series’ mature years.
The 2017 report is especially useful because it said Harmon’s economics included both a high episode salary and a share of NCIS profits as an executive producer. That is stronger wealth evidence than salary alone because it shows participation in the economics of the show itself.
A share of profits can continue to matter long after a season is produced, but public reporting does not provide a reliable current payment schedule or present value for Harmon’s interest. The estimate therefore does not capitalize that stream by assumption.
Repeated earnings and producer participation support a higher retained-capital range than a salary-only television career. Current investments, property, production interests, taxes, spending, transfers and liabilities remain private enough to keep the range wide.
Sources[1][2]A reported salary, company sale or brand valuation is not automatically current personal wealth. We show the pieces that can be tied to retained evidence and keep historical flows separate.
The estimate uses repeated annual earnings as historical flows and keeps reported producer participation qualitative because no reliable current value or payment schedule was identified.

Forbes estimated Harmon earned $15M between June 2012 and June 2013 and $19M in its 2017 television ranking. The later report tied his earnings to both a high NCIS episode salary and a share of the show’s profits as an executive producer. The range recognizes unusually durable television income and participation economics while leaving the present value of those rights, investments, property, taxes, spending, transfers and liabilities unresolved.
