Robert De Niro Net Worth Estimate

Actor, producer and hospitality entrepreneurRobert De Niro’s $430 million base case has something most actor profiles lack: a third-party price for a major private business. Crown Resorts paid $100 million for 20% of Nobu in 2015, implying about $500 million of company equity at the time. The missing number is De Niro’s own percentage.

Base case = our central scenario, not audited holdings. Bear and bull cases show how private-business values, retained proceeds, investment outcomes and personal liabilities could move the answer. Every material unknown must be explicitly bounded before we publish.

Nobu gives us a real company price but not De Niro’s percentage

Crown Resorts paid $100 million for 20% of Nobu in 2015. That transaction implies roughly $500 million of company equity at that moment and is far more useful than calling Nobu a successful celebrity restaurant brand.

The restraint matters just as much as the valuation. The remaining 80% stayed with entities associated with Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper, but the reporting did not disclose De Niro’s personal share. We do not divide the 80% by three and call the result his asset.

The hospitality business now matters alongside the acting tape

By 2025 Forbes reported a Nobu footprint of 46 hotels, 57 restaurants and 20 residences. That growth supports treating the business as material to De Niro’s wealth case, while the undisclosed cap table and any company debt keep the range wide.

Decades of movie pay remain a separate pool of capital

Forbes measured De Niro at $35 million of annual earnings in 2004. We use that and the broader acting career as retained-capital evidence, separately from Nobu, so the same economic value is not counted twice.

Reading guide

How to read this estimate

The headline number is a scenario result. The evidence below shows which parts are directly observed, which parts are modeled, and which historical cash flows are deliberately kept out of the current balance sheet.

Observed

Dated ownership, market values and transaction facts anchor what can be measured directly. An observed component may still cover only part of the total balance sheet.

Modeled

Bear, base and bull components are current-value scenarios built from person-specific evidence. They are not presented as directly observed holdings.

Not double-counted

Career earnings, salaries and sale proceeds explain how wealth formed. We do not add them again as current assets unless retained capital is separately modeled.

Observed assets and financial anchors

A reported salary, company sale or brand valuation is not automatically current personal wealth. We show the pieces that can be tied to retained evidence and keep historical flows separate.

No major component is directly observable as a precise current valueThis estimate is built from source-backed financial anchors and explicitly modeled scenario ranges rather than pretending a private balance sheet is directly observable.

Modeled retained acting and production capital

Forbes estimated De Niro earned $35 million in the 2004 Celebrity 100 period. CP11 uses that person-level pay observation inside a decades-long acting and production career, then applies wide retention haircuts for taxes, spending and investment outcomes.

Modeled Nobu and hospitality/private-company interests

Crown Resorts paid $100 million for 20% of Nobu in 2015, implying roughly $500 million of company equity at that transaction date. The remaining 80% stayed with entities associated with Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper, but De Niro’s exact share was not disclosed. CP11 therefore uses the transaction as a company-level anchor without assigning him a pro rata one-third stake.

How we calculate net worth

De Niro’s estimate keeps acting-derived wealth separate from Nobu. The hospitality component uses the 2015 transaction as a company-level valuation anchor, but it does not assume De Niro owns an equal share of the founders’ retained stake.

Our rule: current assets and liabilities build the balance sheet. Career earnings and business-sale proceeds help reconcile where wealth could have come from, but they are never added again as a second asset.

What could move the estimate

  • What percentage of Nobu does De Niro currently own through personal or affiliated entities?
  • How has Nobu’s equity value changed since the 2015 transaction?
  • What personal property, investments and liabilities materially affect the current balance sheet?
