Base case is our central scenario. Bear and bull cases show how uncertainty around private holdings, retained proceeds, taxes and liabilities can move the estimate.
Rankings use the current base-case estimate and show the wider bear-to-bull range on the full list.
Switch scenarios to see how the total and each component move together. The bars show each positive component's share of the estimated assets in that scenario, not audited holdings.
Contemporaneous reporting citing Variety put Maguire’s Spider-Man 2 salary at about $17M. Forbes later estimated $32M of entertainment pay for its 2004–05 measurement period, reflecting how lucrative the franchise years became for him.
Those figures are not added together in the estimate. Because the annual earnings period can include compensation tied to the same franchise, the project salary is kept as context while the Forbes annual figure is the normalized historical flow.
Public reporting has long discussed participation economics around the Spider-Man sequels, but the exact amount retained today is not observable. The estimate does not convert box-office percentages or franchise grosses into current assets without a reliable realized-value record.
Current investments, property equity, later acting pay, taxes, spending, transfers and liabilities are also incomplete. The range therefore reflects substantial documented historical earning power with a wide allowance for what was retained.
Sources[1][2]A reported salary, company sale or brand valuation is not automatically current personal wealth. We show the pieces that can be tied to retained evidence and keep historical flows separate.
The estimate uses Forbes’s annual earnings figure as the retained historical flow. The separately reported Spider-Man 2 salary is supporting context rather than an additional event because the project economics can overlap with the later annual earnings window.

Forbes estimated $32M of entertainment pay for Maguire in its 2004–05 Celebrity 100 period. Contemporaneous reporting citing Variety separately put his Spider-Man 2 salary at about $17M, but that project-level figure is supporting context rather than a second normalized flow because the later annual earnings window can overlap with the same franchise economics. Backend rights, later acting pay, investments, property, taxes, spending, transfers and liabilities are not independently valued.
Sources[1][2]We began retaining comparable estimate snapshots on Sep 18, 2026. Earlier Grizzly Bulls figures are not reconstructed unless a retained snapshot exists.
Initial Grizzly Bulls estimate published with a major annual entertainment-pay observation while overlapping Spider-Man project compensation remains context only.
This is the first retained snapshot, so there is no earlier comparable Grizzly Bulls estimate to show yet.
The Midland Reporter-Telegram reported, citing Variety, that Maguire was set to receive about $17M for Spider-Man 2. The project salary is retained as context rather than an additional normalized flow.
Sources[2]Forbes estimated $32M of entertainment pay for its 2004–05 Celebrity 100 measurement period, providing the retained historical-flow anchor.
