Heavy equipment Resource Industries total sales measures sales generated by Caterpillar's Resource Industries segment, including external and inter-segment sales.

Caterpillar reported $4.648B of Resource Industries total sales in Q2 2026, up 20% from $3.886B in Q2 2025.

End-user equipment demand is an important driver

Caterpillar said the increase was primarily due to higher sales volume, mainly from greater equipment sales to end users. Mining, heavy construction, quarry and aggregates sales increased, while rail also benefited from higher international locomotive deliveries and rail-services sales.

Use Resource Industries segment profit and profit margin to see how volume translated into earnings. Dealer inventory change remains a separate channel signal.
