Next-12-month backlog conversion is the portion of contracted R&D Solutions backlog that IQVIA expects to recognize as revenue over the following twelve months.

At June 30, 2026, IQVIA expected approximately $9.2B of backlog to convert to revenue in the next twelve months, up 7.5% year over year. Total R&D Solutions contracted backlog was $34.2B.

Timing visibility, not guaranteed revenue

The $9.2B figure is management's expected conversion of existing contracts, not a promise that every dollar will be recognized on schedule. Trial timing, scope changes, cancellations, foreign exchange, reimbursed expenses, and client decisions can move actual revenue.

Use it with net new bookings to distinguish replenishment of future work from conversion of work already contracted.
