R&D Solutions net new bookings measure newly booked clinical-research work on IQVIA's basis after the effects included in its net-bookings methodology.

IQVIA reported $3.15B of Q2 2026 net new bookings, up 19% year over year. Last-twelve-month net new bookings were $11.3B, up 13%.

Orders are not revenue

Bookings enter the future-work funnel before contracted backlog converts into R&D Solutions revenue. The timing can span multiple periods and is exposed to trial changes and cancellations.

Compare quarterly bookings with the book-to-bill ratio rather than assuming a booking dollar becomes a revenue dollar immediately.

Primary sources: IQVIA Q2 2026 Form 10-Q and Q2 2026 earnings release filed with the SEC.
