R&D Solutions segment profit margin is a derived ratio: R&D Solutions segment profit divided by R&D Solutions revenue.

Using IQVIA's Q2 2026 figures, $526M / $2.575B = about 20.4%, versus about 20.0% a year earlier from $473M / $2.366B.

Reimbursed expenses can affect the denominator

IQVIA includes reimbursed expenses such as investigator payments and certain travel in cost of revenue, and related pass-through activity can affect reported revenue growth. That is one reason to read the margin with R&D Solutions revenue rather than treating it as a pure labor-productivity measure.

The ratio is also based on IQVIA's segment profit, not consolidated GAAP operating income.

Primary sources: IQVIA Q2 2026 Form 10-Q and Q2 2026 earnings release filed with the SEC.
