Ethanol Production Capacity measures the stated annual output capability of Valero's ethanol plant network.

Valero reported 12 ethanol plants with approximately 1.7 billion gallons per year of combined production capacity at year-end 2025.

Annualized production was close to stated capacity

Average production volume was 4.611 million gallons per day.

Multiplying by 365 days gives about 1.683 billion gallons, roughly 99.0% of the 1.7 billion gallon nameplate figure.

That is only a broad scale check, not a reported utilization rate.

Capacity and production use different measurement conventions

Nameplate capacity is a point-in-time capability figure while average daily production is a period activity measure.

Maintenance, outages, debottlenecking, inventory, and the timing of capacity changes can all make the simple annualization imperfect.

Use Ethanol Production Volume for realized output.

Near-nameplate production does not guarantee high profitability

Corn and energy costs, ethanol pricing, co-product economics, and operating expense determine whether high physical utilization translates into attractive returns.

Capacity is an operating denominator, not a profit metric.
