Vehicle Auction Annual Unit Sales measures the annual number of vehicles sold through the auction platform.

Copart reported more than 4 million units sold annually in its fiscal 2025 disclosures or subsequent fiscal 2026 network update.

Unit sales measure marketplace throughput, not buyer count

Copart also reported Vehicle Auction Registered Member Base of approximately 1 million registered members.

Those measures use different denominators. Annual unit sales are a flow of transactions, while registered members are a stock of potential buyers. Dividing one by the other would not produce a valid purchase-frequency metric because many registered members may be inactive and active buyers can purchase multiple vehicles.

Throughput spans agent and principal economics

Vehicles sold can generate Vehicle Auction Service Revenue when Copart acts as an auction agent, while a smaller set can contribute principal vehicle sales when Copart owns or controls the vehicle.

That accounting split means more units do not translate into one uniform amount of reported revenue per vehicle.

Units sold are not vehicles sourced

The more-than-4-million figure describes completed marketplace throughput. It should not be read as unique seller supply, inventory, active buyer count, or ending vehicles on hand.
