Vehicle Auction Principal Vehicle Sales Revenue measures gross revenue from vehicles Copart owns or is otherwise considered to control and resells for its own account.

Copart reported $678.296 million of principal vehicle sales revenue in fiscal 2025.

Principal sales were about 14.6% of the two disclosed revenue lanes

Copart also reported Vehicle Auction Service Revenue of $3.969 billion.

Together the two lines total about $4.647 billion. Principal vehicle sales therefore represented about 14.6%, while service revenue represented about 85.4%.

Service revenue was roughly 5.9 times the principal-sales revenue line.

Principal sales carry a matching vehicle-cost line

Copart reported Vehicle Auction Cost of Vehicle Sales of $602.997 million.

Subtracting that cost from $678.296 million of principal revenue leaves about $75.299 million, an approximately 11.1% direct gross spread before facility and other operating expenses.

Gross accounting makes principal revenue look larger per transaction

When Copart acts as principal, the vehicle selling price is recognized gross. When it acts as an agent, the company recognizes service and auction fees rather than the seller's gross vehicle proceeds.

That accounting boundary is essential before comparing revenue growth or mix across vehicle-auction operators.
