Vehicle Auction Registered Member Base measures the number of buyers registered to participate in Copart's marketplace.

Copart reported approximately 1 million registered members.

Registered members are potential liquidity, not annual active buyers

Copart also reported Vehicle Auction Annual Unit Sales of more than 4 million vehicles.

It can be tempting to divide those figures and say the marketplace sells more than four vehicles per member. That would misuse the denominator.

The member count includes registered buyers who may not transact during the year, while active buyers can purchase many vehicles.

Marketplace liquidity depends on participation, not registration alone

A large registered base can improve bid depth, geographic reach, and seller confidence only when enough members actively inspect, bid, pay, and take delivery.

The disclosed member count does not reveal active annual buyers, bids per vehicle, winning-bid concentration, retention, or transaction frequency.

Buyer reach complements an insurance-heavy seller base

Copart reported Vehicle Auction Insurance-Sourced Vehicle Mix of 81% of processed vehicles.

The marketplace model therefore links concentrated seller-channel supply with a broad potential buyer network, but neither headline metric by itself measures marketplace clearing efficiency.
