Base case is our central scenario. Bear and bull cases show how uncertainty around private holdings, retained proceeds, taxes and liabilities can move the estimate.
Rankings use the current base-case estimate and show the wider bear-to-bull range on the full list.
Switch scenarios to see how the total and each component move together. The bars show each positive component's share of the estimated assets in that scenario, not audited holdings.
Yahoo Finance, citing TV Guide’s annual salary report, placed Cranston at about $225,000 per Breaking Bad episode. Forbes later placed him at $8M in its 2014 television earnings ranking after the series ended.
The episode rate and annual figure are evidence of earning power, not separate piles of current wealth. They also sit on top of years of earlier television work rather than representing the beginning of his career.
Cranston continued into film, Broadway and later television roles after Breaking Bad. That breadth supports meaningful retained capital, but public reporting does not disclose the current value of residuals or producer participation.
The estimate therefore avoids assigning a separate asset value to those private economics and keeps current investments, property, taxes, spending, transfers and liabilities inside the uncertainty range.
Sources[1][2]A reported salary, company sale or brand valuation is not automatically current personal wealth. We show the pieces that can be tied to retained evidence and keep historical flows separate.
The estimate uses reported annual earnings and episode compensation as overlapping historical flows. Residuals, producer economics, investments, property, taxes, spending and liabilities remain unpriced without current person-level evidence.

Forbes placed Cranston at $8M in its 2014 television earnings ranking after the end of Breaking Bad. Yahoo Finance, citing TV Guide’s salary survey, reported a $225,000 per-episode Breaking Bad rate. The range treats those figures as historical evidence of premium compensation layered on top of a long prior and subsequent career, while leaving producer economics, residuals, investments, property, taxes, spending, transfers and liabilities unresolved.
