Base case is our central scenario. Bear and bull cases show how uncertainty around private holdings, retained proceeds, taxes and liabilities can move the estimate.
Rankings use the current base-case estimate and show the wider bear-to-bull range on the full list.
Switch scenarios to see how the total and each component move together. The bars show each positive component's share of the estimated assets in that scenario, not audited holdings.
Grosjean's path differs from the retired Formula 1 veterans around him. He earned ten podiums during his F1 career, racing for Lotus and later Haas before switching to IndyCar after 2020. His financial history thus crosses racing series with different team economics and sponsor arrangements. An F1 salary from one season is a useful scale check, not a lifetime-earnings total.
A February 2017 GrandPrix247 salary table placed his prospective annual Haas pay at $1.5M. It does not establish the net amount he received that season, whether bonuses were triggered or how much outside sponsorship money he made. Nor does it state the terms of the IndyCar contracts that came later, so projecting the old F1 rate through 2026 would be unjustified.
INDYCAR confirmed in February 2026 that Grosjean would race for Dale Coyne Racing and had also been named a brand ambassador for a commercial partner. Both relationships provide potential sources of income, but the announcement contains no confirmed fee or ownership grant. His racing opportunities have continued; the disclosed financial evidence has not kept pace with them.
The $12M central capital scenario, with $3M and $35M alternatives, accounts for possible savings, personal investments and commercial earnings while leaving unknown expenses and taxes open. The most valuable next evidence would be the terms of his recent racing and branding agreements, not a generic salary guess from a different championship.

GrandPrix247's February 2017 preseason salary survey estimated Romain Grosjean's annual Haas pay at $1.5M, without verifying eventual payouts, bonuses, sponsor compensation or taxes.
Sources[1]Grosjean raced in Formula 1 for Renault/Lotus and Haas, earning ten podiums, before moving into IndyCar. He returned to a full-time 2026 IndyCar seat with Dale Coyne Racing.
Sources[2]INDYCAR's February 2026 announcement identified a Dale Coyne race seat and brand ambassadorship, but not any contract salary, endorsement fee, bonus or personal team equity.
Sources[3]GrandPrix247's early 2017 report estimated a $1.5M annual Haas salary. Grosjean later moved from Formula 1 to IndyCar, and INDYCAR confirmed his 2026 Dale Coyne seat and a brand ambassadorship without disclosing pay. The salary figure concerns a historical preseason rate, not his 2026 income. The independent $12M central retained-capital scenario and $3M-$35M range model possible post-tax earnings across distinct racing series, investments and commercial activity, without inserting a fabricated current sponsorship valuation.
