Workplace services uniform and facility gross margin measures gross profit as a percentage of revenue for uniform rental and facility service operations.

Cintas reported a 50.8% Uniform Rental and Facility Services gross margin in the fiscal 2027 first quarter, up from 49.7% a year earlier.

The margin captures production and route-service economics

Cintas says segment cost of sales includes production expense, delivery expense, and amortization of in-service inventory such as uniforms, mats, and shop towels.

Margin can therefore improve through sourcing, laundry and production efficiency, route efficiency, inventory utilization, price, and mix.

Gross margin stops before selling and administrative expense

A stronger gross margin does not automatically translate one-for-one into operating-margin expansion.

Read it with uniform and facility SG&A expense rate and uniform and facility operating margin to follow profit conversion below gross profit.
