Car wash greenfield location openings measure new sites developed and opened by the company rather than acquired from another operator.

Mister Car Wash opened 29 greenfield locations in 2025 and said greenfield development is expected to drive most future location growth.

Greenfield growth creates a multi-year ramp

A new wash can begin contributing revenue immediately, but Mister Car Wash says the greenfield maturation period is typically approximately three full years to reach mature average unit volumes.

Opening count therefore measures development activity, not mature earning power added during the year.

New stores enter comparable sales before full maturity

A greenfield location becomes comparable on the first day of its 13th full calendar month.

That means there can be roughly two additional years of maturation after a site begins affecting comparable-store sales. Investors should not assume that entering the comp base means the unit is fully ramped.

Organic openings differ from acquisitions

Mister Car Wash also acquired five locations in 2025.

Greenfield openings require site selection, development, construction, and launch investment, while acquisitions purchase an existing operating location or business. Both expand the network, but their capital needs and starting economics differ.
