Fitness club system-wide sales measure monthly membership dues and annual fees billed across both franchisee-owned and corporate-owned clubs.

Planet Fitness reported $5.3 billion of system-wide sales in 2025, up from $4.8 billion in 2024.

Most system-wide sales are not Planet Fitness GAAP revenue

Franchisee-owned clubs bill their own members. Those billings are included in system-wide sales but are not recorded as Planet Fitness consolidated revenue.

The metric is useful because those franchisee billings support royalty revenue and other franchise economics.

The measure deliberately excludes some member spending

Planet Fitness defines system-wide sales around monthly dues and annual fees.

Enrollment fees, retail purchases, and equipment sales are not the same thing as system-wide sales. That keeps the metric focused on recurring and annual membership billings rather than all economic activity in the system.

System-wide sales bridge members to franchisor economics

Planet Fitness ended 2025 with approximately 20.8 million members and a 6.7% average royalty rate across the franchise system.

The combination of member scale, dues, annual fees, same-club growth, and franchise royalty structure helps explain how system-wide billings translate into company franchise revenue.

Use system-wide sales with franchise segment revenue, not as a substitute for it.
