Foundry automotive revenue mix measures the share of foundry revenue attributed to automotive applications under the issuer's platform classification.

TSMC reported that automotive represented about 5% of 2025 revenue.

Five percent sits inside a much larger platform mix

The same 2025 platform disclosure put HPC at 58% and smartphones at 29%. The 5% automotive share was therefore much smaller than either of TSMC's two dominant platforms.

That does not make automotive economically interchangeable with another 5% category. Automotive chips can use different process nodes, qualification requirements, product lives, and pricing structures.

Equal revenue shares can hide different manufacturing demand

Automotive and Foundry IoT Revenue Mix each represented about 5% of 2025 revenue, but equal shares do not imply equal demand cycles or equal wafer requirements.

Use Process Node Revenue Mix to separate application exposure from the node mix used to manufacture those applications.

Watch mix changes in percentage points

A move from 5% to 7% would be a two-point shift in company revenue mix, not simply a 40% increase in the economic importance of the platform. Mix should be analyzed alongside the absolute company revenue base.
